6 Steps to Connect Telegram
Create a bot with BotFather and connect it to your AI employee.
Open BotFather on Telegram
Open the Telegram app on your phone or desktop. Search for @BotFather (it has a blue verified checkmark). Start a conversation by clicking Start.
Create a New Bot
Send the command /newbot to BotFather. Choose a display name for your bot (e.g., "My Company Assistant"). Choose a username ending with bot (e.g., "mycompany_assistant_bot").
Copy the Bot Token
BotFather will reply with a message containing your bot token. The token looks like: 123456789:ABCdefGHIjk1MNOpqrsTUVwxyz. Copy this token - you will need it in the next step.
Connect the Bot in GetATeam
In GetATeam Settings → Connectors → Telegram, paste the bot token in the input field and click Connect Bot. GetATeam will validate the token and set up the webhook automatically. Your bot should appear in the list with a "Connected" status.
Assign the Bot to an Employee
Click Assign next to your connected bot. Select the employee that should receive Telegram messages. Enable "Allow messages from all chats" to let anyone message the bot, or add specific chat IDs/usernames to the allowed list.

- You can add the bot to group chats - use the group's chat ID (negative number) in the allowed chats list
- Each bot can be assigned to multiple employees
- The employee will see incoming messages with a blue Telegram badge in their chat
